So you have some questions.

That’s a good thing! You’d never make a major life decision without asking some questions. Good thing we’ve got answers. Read on for our most commonly asked questions. If you have something that you don’t see answered here or anywhere else on the site, give us a call. We may even add yours to this list.

We currently have 131 Independent Living homes, approximately 14 of which open each year for entry by our waitlisters. For our residents, we offer comprehensive, licensed In-Home Care, 11 Residential Living homes, and a 28-bed long-term and Medicare-certified Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Our 131 Independent Living homes range from 360 to almost 2,700 square feet, in more than 30 different floor plans, more than half of which are various two-bed, two-bath options. All residents join us in Independent Living homes. From there they can access our exceptional In-Home Care, Residential Living, and both long-term nursing and short-term Medicare-certified Skilled Care as needed.

We are pet-friendly to friendly pets. Each Independent Living apartment’s residents may have up to two dogs or cats at any time, after a $500 nonrefundable pet deposit, successful completion of pet policy paperwork, and an “interview” with our staff (for dogs only; cats stay inside homes). The dog’s behavior—not size, matters.

Residents enjoy a wide range of community spaces as part of their Cascade Manor home, including our Columbia Dining Room, Rogue Bistro, Rooftop Solarium, 50-foot indoor saline-chlorinated lap swimming pool, fitness gym/locker rooms, auditorium, library, Tower and 29th Place lobbies, conference and meeting rooms, and beautiful courtyards throughout the 7-acre campus.

Cascade Manor residents and their guests enjoy delectable dining in the Columbia Dining Room, Rogue Bistro, private dining rooms for special events, and in their own homes through our takeout and room service options.

Our menus regularly feature vegetarian and vegan options. While we don’t have a dedicated kitchen to prepare special dietary requests, we encourage residents to speak with their servers, in order to feel confident about the ingredients used.

An average of 20 exercise and fitness classes are offered each week at Cascade Manor! Examples include both shallow and deep water exercise, Better Bones & Balance, Wii Fitness, tai chi and chair chi, and various forms of yoga and dance. Our Enhancing Memory classes are also very popular. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, suggest it through our Activities and/or Health Committees.

Some of the Monthly Fee services include delicious meals, a free reserved parking space, wellness programs, housekeeping, scheduled transportation, upkeep of grounds and landscaping, building maintenance. Wi-Fi and closed circuit TV, and a wide array of educational and cultural programs—initiated, and often facilitated, by residents.

There is only one unlocked entry into the Tower building during business hours, and it opens to our staffed Front Desk. We have security cameras around campus and have contracted with Guardian Security to do security rounds between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. nightly.

Cascade Manor provides a free reserved parking space for each Independent Living apartment in which at least one resident is still actively driving and with a current license.

Cascade Manor has a full-time Transportation Coordinator. Services include free scheduled rides to and from local healthcare providers for non-emergent visits, as well as scheduled group and individual trips for a nominal fee.

Cascade Manor is the only Continuing Care Retirement Community in the region and the only nonprofit senior community in Eugene. The Cascade Manor Foundation assists residents who may be running out of money over time and provides employee scholarships for higher education.
